Tomorrow (Wednesday 27 May), tiny Sparrow will lose his eye.

At just five weeks old, he arrived at our shelter alongside seven other tiny kittens after being found wandering on a local road.

All eight kittens are suffering from severe cat flu.

For Sparrow, the infection caused devastating damage to his eye, leaving our veterinary team with no choice but to perform urgent surgery tomorrow so he can finally be free from pain.

Sadly, two of his siblings will also require eye removal surgery once they are strong enough.

This is not how anyone would want a road home to begin.

Because RSPCA ACT operates a professional veterinary clinic onsite, our team could act immediately to relieve pain, begin treatment, and give these kittens the urgent care they needed. These kittens are now receiving medications, intensive supportive care, monitoring, and soon, foster homes where they can safely continue recovering.

Their road home starts here, with urgent treatment, warmth, safety, and people willing to help them through the very first stage of recovery.

Their projected veterinary costs for this next week are $4,983, and that is only the beginning of their journey.

Please donate today to help Sparrow and his siblings begin their road home.

If donations exceed our immediate goal, additional funds will continue supporting Sparrow, his siblings, and other animals requiring urgent care at RSPCA ACT.
