Together For Canberra Pets
For over 30 years, the Million Paws Walk brought pet lovers together across Australia. Canberra is proud to continue this tradition with the Canberra Paws Walk, where Sunday takes centre stage as the community’s beloved main event, celebrating pets and bringing people together. Saturday introduces a new initiative that provides support to pets of eligible, vulnerable members of the community, highlighting the real impact our community can make for animals in need.
Healthy Pet Day
Saturday 23 May 2026
The first day of the weekend, Healthy Pet Day, focuses on keeping pets healthy, happy, and at home. This large-scale community outreach event provides free or subsidised services such as vaccinations, microchipping, parasite treatments, basic health checks, desexing referrals, grooming, and behaviour support. Healthy Pet Day also connects pet owners with human-focused support services and our Community Pet Pantry. This initiative is strictly by approved bookings only, and pet owners must refer to our RSPCA ACT website to check eligibility and express interest. Learn more about Healthy Pet Day here.
Canberra Paws Walk
Sunday 24 May 2026
The second day is a celebration of community, pets, and fun! Enjoy a vibrant, festival-style dog walk with live entertainment, market stalls, dog games and competitions, and meet-and-greets with the RSPCA ACT team and some of the dogs in our care. Through peer-to-peer fundraising, participants help resource vital programs that prevent cruelty and support pets in need.
The Canberra Paws Walk raises crucial funds to support prevention and intervention programs that keep pets healthy, families together and prevent them from coming into the Shelter.
Join us for the inaugural Canberra Paws Walk and be part of a tradition that keeps evolving to meet the needs of our community.
Where: Patrick White Lawns
