Why is it no longer the Million Paws Walk?

The national Million Paws Walk has retired, but RSPCA ACT is continuing the spirit of this beloved event as we understand our community is keen to support us by attending this event. The Canberra Paws Walk is a local, refreshed version with a renewed focus on community impact.

What is Healthy Pet Day?

Are there any special requirements for my dog?

All participating dogs for Canberra Paws Walk (Sunday 25th May) must be fully vaccinated, socialised, and remain on lead at all times using a flat collar, head collar, or harness.

Can I bring my cat or other animal?

For safety and welfare reasons, Canberra Paws Walk is a dog-only event. Healthy Pet Day is available for dogs and cats, other animal species upon request. 

What happens if it rains?

Events generally go ahead rain or shine unless there’s an extreme weather risk. Check emails, social media, and the event webpage for updates.

Can I request a refund if I cannot attend?

Tickets are non-refundable, but we can convert your entry fee into a donation with a tax-deductible receipt.

Where do all the funds raised go?

Funds support vital community outreach and preventative programs including subsidised veterinary care, emergency boarding, desexing referrals, vaccinations, microchipping, behaviour support, education initiatives, providing adoption, shelter and veterinary services for those abandoned, neglected or unwanted animals waiting for their forever homes.

Are donations tax-deductible? What about tickets?

Donations over $2 are tax-deductible. Ticket fees are not. Receipts for tax-deductible donations are automatically sent via email.
