Thank you! We've reached our goal!
Work is underway but donations are still gladly accepted to help care for the 400 animals currently in our care.
Urgent Appeal:
Help Us Desex and Rehome Animals Faster
RSPCA ACT is currently at capacity: with 53 dogs and puppies and 289 cats and kittens.
We had 17 puppies come into care in one day alone last week. Every week more animals are coming into our care than being adopted out.
Despite our dedicated veterinary team working as hard and smart as they possibly can, our limited capacity and sick animals in care getting priority is leading to as long as a 5-week delay in desexing procedures, which increases the length of time animals are remaining in our care.
With these unrelentingly high numbers of animals in our care, our team’s abilities are stretched, exacerbated by our facilities not being fit for purpose and our veterinary clinic resources being so constrained.
We are reaching out for help so that we can get more animals, in particular adult cats, kittens and puppies, desexed quicker and adopted faster.

Our Goal: Raise $20,000 to cover the costs of 40 animals - boosting our volume of desexing procedures.
We simply don’t have the capacity to get through the volumes in a timely manner, and we fear that this could compromise welfare outcomes. By working together with local veterinarians, we can get more procedures done and get animals into homes quicker.
(The Veterinary community is under pressure, and we respect and understand that there will be costs that will be incurred.)

Consider fostering to provide a temporary home for an animal still waiting for their desexing procedure.
Our community always comes through for us and for this we are very grateful. We understand we are asking for additional help, and by supporting this project our donors are directly helping us get these animals home sooner and freeing up space to help the many more animals in need.
